Dugi Rat, a town located halfway between Split and Omiš, takes its name from the long, narrow pebble beach that stretches along the entire coastline of the settlement. Until the end of the 20th century, Dugi Rat was home to the Dalmacijacement factory, which for a century defined the economy and identity of the town. Remnants of the industrial architecture can still be seen along the coast today, witness to an era when this was one of central Dalmatia's industrial centers.

Proximity to Split and Omiš

From Dugi Rat, it takes about thirty minutes by boat to reach Split to the northwest or the mouth of the Cetina river at Omiš to the southeast, making the town a practical base for exploring both cities without needing to stay overnight in a busier center. This balance of proximity and calm is rare along this stretch of coast.

The season runs from May to October, peaking in July and August. June and September offer warm seas and a calmer beach, ideal for guests who want to avoid the crowds of nearby Split during peak season.
